DO WE NEED BIG LEADERSHIP TODAY MORE THAN EVER?

DO WE NEED BIG LEADERSHIP TODAY MORE THAN EVER?

I’m heading to Kuala Lumpur next week to deliver a Leadership Masterclass to 120 Executive & Senior Leaders from some of the region’s biggest organisations.

In preparation, I’ve been thinking a lot about leadership in today’s context … not really a surprise given this is my life’s work.

But another level of thinking.

What is leadership all about in our current context?

What does the world need from its leaders?

How can I challenge this current crisis of leadership?

How can I help bring more, good and great, leadership to life?

Fight for the things that you care about, but do it in a way that will lead others to join you.

Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Former Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States

This is what I believe. Leaders have a fundamental responsibility:

  • to lead, not just hold a place in the organisation chart,
  • to be visible in their leadership,
  • to be human, and
  • to develop more leaders.

I believe true leaders rise in response to the needs of their communities, organisations, and people.

I know we need true leaders now more than ever.

We need Big Leadership.

Leaders with big vision, who challenge the status quo, make bold decisions, and take brave action to create the future.

We need leaders who bring light, hope and humanity through their leadership.

Watch out over the coming weeks and months as I share details of our next contributions to the ongoing development of leadership around the world. Creating options and opportunity.

Let’s all be leading possibility.

I’d love to know your thoughts.
